Prom Night

Prom this year was held on April 30, 2011 at the Springfield Country Club located in West Springfield. Many students attended this years prom, which was themed “the time of my life”, and it seemed to be the same, if not a better turn out than last year.

The venue was much bigger than last year’s venue, which was the Delaney House, and had a much bigger dance floor and a patio. The outside patio was enjoyed by both the students and teachers throughout the night, and was a popular place for taking pictures because it overlooked the beautiful golf course.

Besides the usual professionally done prom pictures, there was also a photo booth. The photo booth was the junior class gift and was very popular with students, who went back several times for more pictures.

The DJ was excellent and impressed the students with his lights that lit up the dance floor. Students danced all night, with the occasional break out on the patio.

Soft drinks were served all night, the popular choice being Shirley Temples. Dinner was served buffet style and, although it lacked in choices, was pretty tasty. After dinner, those attending prom were able to create their own sundaes at the sundae bar.

After the junior couples walked in, the pairs danced to “Time of My Life”  as they were judged by the staff, who would later pick the Prom King and Queen based on who they felt fit the titles the best. This year,  the Prom Queen was won by Victoria Quill and Chris Koch won Prom King. The pair danced to “Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing”.

Prom was a memorable night that was enjoyed by everybody. The junior class made the night unforgettable and it will be tough for next year’s class to be it.
