Tournament In Sight

The boys varsity baseball team seems to be on a roll with a total record of 8-1. With a win yesterday they are now tied for first place with Easthampton in the league.  The next  game for the Hawks is against Greenfield under the lights. It’s an away game that will truly be a test for the Hawks. If they come ready to win with the intensity that they brought against Easthampton making the tournament should not be a problem. The first pitch will be thrown at 7 p.m and fan turnout for Hopkins should be big.

Hawks Starting Off Strong

It was a chilly afternoon on Wednesday (4/6) as the Hopkins Academy Varsity baseball team hosted Greenfield. “It was a tid bit nipply, but I stayed warm by making a fire and  making s’mores with Nate in the outfield,” center fielder Jamie Garand says. Senior, Garrison Banas, started the game pitching and did a great job, striking out 14 with a no hitter, but asked to be taken out in the 6th inning. Filling in after Banas and ending the game was junior Aiden Barrett. Barrett pitched one inning and struck out three batters.  Read the rest of this entry »
