Cold season has been around us for a while, but, having the mild winter we had, it’s all starting to catch up with us now. The runny noses, deep coughs, and scratchy throats… you want to get rid of it ASAP! If you’re someone like me, you absolutely hate going to the doctors, and will do anything to avoid them. Right? And anyway, all they do is throw a bunch of medicine at you! However, it is not advisable that you become dependent on cold medicine during this “time of need” due to their side-effects. And so, luckily, there are many many ways to help cure your cold,  the natural way, in your own h0me!

I’ll give you just a few that are simple and easy. Have a killer sore throat? Gargle! Get a cup of hot water (the hottest you can withstand), and add a pinch of salt to it. This helps ease the “roughness” feeling in your throat, but warning, it doesn’t taste all that yummy.

Not a fan of gargling? Try just simply drinking warm drinks! Cold drinks can bother your throat, making it worse. Warm water, coffee, tea, even milk is awesome! To your tea, add some tulsi leaves, crushed ginger, and black pepper.  To your milk, add turmeric powder, ginger powder, and a teaspoon of honey.

Another very nice and soothing home remedy for curing your cold is using a steam inhalation. It clears the sinuses, and is very relaxing! But all in all, the best thing to do when suffering through a cold is simply getting plenty of rest and constantly drinking fluids!
