On Thursday, September 22nd, the Boys JV Soccer team took
the ride to Mahar. Hopkins took a commanding lead early in the game.
Goals by Chad Sanderson, Ethan Sanderson, Matt Pipczynski, and
Dominic Rodgers gave Hopkins a 4-0 lead. Mahar scored one goal later
in the first half to make the  score 4-1 going into the second  half.
Early in the second half, Chad Sanderson took a corner kick, which
deflected off a Mahar player and into the goal. Mahar responded with
a goal shortly after. Hopkins then scored three more goals to have a
solid six goal lead. Late in the second half, Mahar got a free goal
when the Hopkins defense accidentally kicked the ball in their own
net after trying to clear the ball. This would be the last goal of
the game as Hopkins went on to win 8-3.

On Monday, September 26th, Hopkins began a three game
home stand against Mohawk. Hopkins scored two goals early to get the
lead, both by Chad Sanderson. Hopkins would then score another goal
for a 3-0 lead. In the second half, Chad Sanderson scored another
goal to give Hopkins a 4-0. Mohawk’s defense held strong with Hopkins
constantly threatening. The final score was 4-0. Hopkins has two more
home games later this week, Tuesday 3:30 vs. Hampshire, and Thursday
3:30 vs. Granby.
